2. Delftfield

Delftfield kicked off the whole of the Scottish Pottery Industry

Delftfield Pottery is considered to have kick-started the Scottish Pottery industry as a whole and was the first of Glasgow’s potteries exporting across the globe. It was established in 1748 in response to the trade cycle Glasgow merchants set up around the Atlantic which included Tobacco, Cotton, Rum, Sugar and West African Slaves.
